SHELL PEARLS - information
Shell pearls are man-made pearls fashioned from the core of oyster shells, also known as nacre or mother of pearl. During production, the nacre is extracted from the shell and ground to a fine powder, then enriched with natural colors through a very complex procedure. This results in a very finely structured, uniform, and deep layer of nacre. Shell pearls are particularly round and even, and are available in many different colors. These pearls also provide an affordable alternative to Tahitian or South Sea shell pearls. Shell pearls are 100% organic and should be handled with care as one would with natural pearls.
